At the Coffee & Confusion Coffeehouse in North Beach, San Francisco. I played here often in 1967 & 1968!

Joni Mitchell came in to hear us this week. And yes I was nervous. I actually had the nerve to sing one of her songs to her!

I wrapped up a whirlwind summer in Europe and Africa with an appearance at The Cambridge Folk Festival in England!
I was one of 2 Americans at the festival that year. Mike Seeger (Pete's half brother) was the other American.
I was hired as an MC at clubs all over the Village! I guess I was reliable and kept the chaos in check.

Legendary record producer John Hammond brought me into Columbia Studios to do a demo / audition session in July 1972! He was looking for the next Bob Dylan. He auditioned and signed Bruce Springsteen 6 months later!

I love Mississippi! I spent all my free time finding legendary blues singers grave sites! Clarksdale, Yazoo City, Rolling Fork, Rosedale, Indianola, Tchula, Morgan City, etc!
